Horizons is currently seeking independent contractors for the positions of Behavioral Consultant (BC), Mobile Therapist (MT) and Behavioral Health Technician (BHT).

Behavior Consultant

Behavior Consultant will be responsible for the assessment, program design and monitoring of a behavior modification intervention plan which is individualized to child and adolescent as well as family needs as defined by PA Department of Public Welfare, CASSP and Magellan standards.  Services are provided in the school and/or home and community setting.

BCs must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Valid Behavior Specialist license in commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • BCBA certification or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis
  • Graduate degree in ABA from an accredited college or university
  • One year minimum clinical experience providing mental health direct services to children AND graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of clinical/practicum AND graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from an accredited college or university

Mobile Therapist

Mobile Therapist will provide child centered, family focused psychotherapy using a variety of treatment modalities outlined in the child’s treatment plan. MT will work collaboratively with treatment team members to support the overall growth and development of the client and family. Services are provided in the home and/or school and community setting. 

Mobile Therapists must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Valid license in commonwealth of Pennsylvania (LPC, LCSW, LSW, MFT, LP)
  • Valid license in PA as a social worker or behavior specialist AND graduate degree with clinical practicum from accredited college or university
  • One year minimum clinical experience providing mental health direct services with children AND graduate degree in psychology, social work, or counseling from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of clinical/practicum AND graduate degree in psychology, social work, or counseling from an accredited college or university

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) will be responsible for providing one-to-one mental health interventions to a child or adolescent to prevent more restrictive services and promote age-appropriate psychosocial growth. BHT will follow treatment plan and implement interventions developed by Behavior Consultant. BHT will work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and members of community to transfer skills and techniques needed to assist the child or adolescent with identified problem areas. Services are delivered either in the home, school, or community setting. BHT will be responsible for progress notes and maintaining training hours.

Behavioral Health Technicians must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Certification as BCaBA, RBT, or BCAT
  • High school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and completion of 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as BHT or Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS)
  • Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an accredited organization
